On the Saturday the 23rd of September, 2017 at 9 am it started: We, Metecno, had our first volunteering day at the daycare center “Waltgeister” in Blankenhain. Nine colleagues showed their social commitment together by cladding a rain shelter with new trapezoidal plates in the look of a fly agaric, and by demolishing two old sheltered picnic stations. With five times man power and heavy machinery (a chain saw :-)), it only took about an hour and both stations were gone, the wood was removed, and the area was tidy again. The trapezoidal plates were mounted at a dizzy hight by a qualified colleague. Now the toys of our little forest ghosts (German “Waldgeister”) are now again safe from rain and snow.
Thank you very much to the Metecno colleagues participating and offering their free time and energy for this social project. Another Thank You goes to the man and women of the daycare center “Waldgeister”, who provided coffee, beverages, sandwiches and other treats, and to the participating parents, who followed suit and saw about the green waste in the whole area of the daycare center.
